Tamil Sangam of Carolina is an organization devoted to people in around Triangle area (Raleigh, Cary, Morrisville, Durham, Apex and Chapel Hill) who have an interest in Tamil language and culture

The primary mission of Tamil Sangam is to promote and cultivate Tamil language and culture by organizing social and cultural events, celebrating major Tamil festivals, teaching Tamil to the next generation and participation in charitable causes. Membership to Tamil Sangam is open to anyone who have an interest in Tamil language and culture.

Tamil Youth Committee’s Mission is provide a safe, productive, and social environment for young Tamilians to learn about their history, language, culture and traditions while gaining life skills to promote self-growth, improve cultural self-image and develop sound ethnic identity through our activities and projects.

Goal

Our goal is to provide guidance and support to youth, ages 12 - 20, with developing a positive cultural identity that helps them establish ethnicity, characterized by community involvement, social networking, fellowship, promotion and appreciation for their history and culture so that they can take that to next generation.

Sporting events, Tamil book/writing club, Art projects, Dance/singing competitions, Fundraising events, etc.
Cultural Events
Provides exciting opportunities to participate in the Tamil Sangam event organization and coordination of services which include back stage help, food service, ticket sales, engagement of youth under age 12, chaperoning, membership services etc.,

Sustainable Development Projects

Thank you for your support on Flood Disaster Relief effort for Chennai and Cuddalore. For those affected people Tamil Sangam of Carolina, our Youth committee and few other Tamil Sangams jointly identified AKVIM Trust, Tamil Nadu Branch for their next mission of implementing project called "Providing Sustainable Safe Drinking Water Mission’ benefiting approximately 7500 families at poovalai village in Cuddalore District, Tamil Nadu, India which is one part of the affected rural villages in Cuddalore after Dec 2015 flood disaster. This project is lead by Dr.U.P.Senthil Kumar, AKVIM President.
